Bio
Andrew Jarrell is in his first season (2025) as defensive line coach at Buckhorn High School.
In his debut year leading the Bucks’ defensive front, Jarrell coached 2025 All-Star defensive lineman Ian Harrell and helped anchor a defense that allowed just 18.08 points per game (16.6 PPG in the regular season), ranking 10th in Class 6A in scoring defense and posting the program’s lowest points-allowed average since 2006. Buckhorn forced 20 turnovers (16 interceptions, 4 fumble recoveries), recorded 19 sacks and 55 tackles for loss, and pitched two shutouts — the first time the program had accomplished that feat since 1997. The Bucks finished 7-4, marking the most wins in 18 years.
Prior to arriving at Buckhorn, Jarrell spent two seasons (2023-24) at Rogers High School in Florence, Ala., where he served as offensive line assistant and helped develop the Pirates’ front.
Jarrell began his coaching career in college football, working three seasons (2020-22) as a student assistant at the University of North Alabama. During his time with the Lions, he gained extensive experience with multiple offensive position groups while completing his degree.
A Madison County native, Jarrell returned to the high school ranks in 2023 and now brings his knowledge of line play to the defensive side of the ball at Buckhorn.
